Who should you pick for GW7❓
We've teamed up with nine-time top 1% finishers @FPLdiary who will be posting an exclusive blog to JAFA users telling you who to pick every game-week!
Stuck on who to pick this week? Check out our GW7 XI…
Goalkeeper
🦁 Heaton
With many of the big boys failing to earn clean sheets so far this season, budget keepers are a popular trend. While Heaton is my no means guaranteed a clean sheet, Villa do have a good home record winning two of their three home PL fixtures to nil so far this season.
Defenders
🦊 Söyünchü
Leicester look most likely to break into the top 6 and the Turkish centre-back looks like a bit of a baller. At £4.6m he is a cheap way into the Foxes back line. Newcastle don’t score many and the bookies are giving Leicester the best odds to keep a clean sheet of all the PL teams this weekend.
🔵 Otamendi
The fiery centre back can be a bit of a loose cannon at times but with City’s defensive injury crisis he is guaranteed a start. It’s always a treat when your defenders can clock up attacking returns and the Argentine centre back has had more shots in the box than any other defender in the PL this season and notched a goal and assist last time out.
🔴 Alexander-Arnold
Trent is an FPL must have. Free-kicks, corners, clean sheets. He’s the highest priced defender in the game for a reason.
Midfielders
🔵 Mount
Teacher’s pet seems a little unfair, but this is the sort of player Frank wants at Chelsea. Work ethic, attitude, set piece delivery, and able to play the high press. Frank has rewarded him with 90 minutes in every PL game so far this season. He’s been clocking up the points for us FPL managers too with three goals in six.
⚪ Son
The Son is always shining when this man’s in your team. The likeable South Korean has played up top in recent weeks and his heat maps suggest he is even further advanced than Kane. It’s only a matter of time until he hauls.
🔵 KDB
The best player in the league right now? He’s an assist machine and at under £10m looks an absolute steal. With 40% ownership it would be dangerous not owning him.
⚒️ Yarmolenko
You can’t fill a team with premium assets so Yarmolenko comes in as an enabler. West Ham will be on a high after beating United and the Ukrainian looks a real attacking threat cutting in from the right. Bournemouth aren’t known for keeping it tight so expect goals galore.
Forwards
🔵 Abraham
Chelsea might concede a lot this season but they will almost certainly score loads too. Tammy looks full of confidence and with a favourable fixture (Brighton at home) we are going for the Chelsea double up.
🔴 Firmino
We couldn’t make space for Salah or Mané this week so the third member of the holy trinity had to come in. Welcome to the team Bobby Firmino. He’s returned seven bonus points in his last three PL games which is usually a good indicator that a player is in form.
🔵 Aguero (c)
With 55 FPL points already this season, he’s the highest scorer in the game. He’s scored in every game (eight goals in six) which is why we are banking on him with the captain’s armband this week.
