LONDON - Community & Social Manager - Intern

Day to Day

You’ll be assisting our team in their weekly tasks to ensure our app and other social communities are all in fine form! One day you might find yourself working on copy for our advertising campaigns, the next, you may be replying to our app reviews, tweets, comments and in-app user queries. Notifying our users is a key part of providing value to them, from time to time you’ll be scheduling/pushing notifications out with content relevant for each team or user group.

You

An avid football news reader who has knowledge of ALL Premier League clubs. You’re a fan of one club but are able to put that aside in the creation of unbiased content. Historical football knowledge is a nice to have, as well as an interest in other leagues like the Championship, EFL 1/2 and Europe’s other top 4 leagues.

So, if you like talking football and sharing your ideas of how to drive more fans to have their say then say no more…

LONDON/BRISTOL - Python & Django Developer

We are willing to consider candidates all the way from fresh out of university to people with 5+ years experience

We are looking for someone with Python and Django experience to work in an award-winning app business. This role is very flexible in terms of learning and growth as well as technical approach and architecture, but your focus will be on the backend that supports the JAFA App.

Background on JAFA:

JAFA is a 2-year-old tech-start-up, with a customer facing app (JAFA) and business facing service arm (Fan Insight Professionals).

The JAFA app is primarily football focussed - bringing the latest news and conversation to our users. We have plans to expand into other sports and regions, but right now we are focused on Football and the UK.

Originally JAFA started in Milton Keynes and now has an office in London with a tech team in Ukraine.

We are now starting to build a tech team in London/Bristol to further the development of the JAFA app - both frontend and backend.

Skills - must have:

a) Python experience

b) Django / Django Rest framework experience

c) SQL experience (we use Postgres, but other relational databases are fine too!)

Skills – Nice to have:

a) AWS experience – we use EC2, ElastiCache, RDS and a few other services

b) Dev Ops experience

c) Understanding of task based technology and management of queues (Rabbit MQ etc.)

d) Web sockets and other networking basics

You will be responsible for:

1) Maintaining the existing backend infrastructure

2) Performing a version update for the existing Django instances

3) Working with the frontend team to provide relevant REST endpoints to support frontend development

4) Working with the design team and other people within JAFA to build Django admin interfaces that perform business tasks

5) Improving and modernising the infrastructure as and when time permits

We are looking for someone with React Native experience to work in an award-winning start-up app business. This role is very flexible in terms of learning and growth as well as technical approach and architecture, but your focus will be on the frontend JAFA app.

3) Ensuring that deployments to the app store and play store are managed correctly

4) You will have to write some tests (sad face) but this will be on the light side

5) Ensuring that the app works properly on both iOS and Android

6) Challenging us and being proactive – your job is to help build the JAFA App, but we want you to grow to own parts of the product and know it inside out.

7) Working with the wider development team and business to translate business requirements into estimates and then implementing those estimates
